We have a 7 year lease on a beautiful 8 acre historical farm property on the north end of Vashon Island, a short ferry ride from downtown Seattle. We are combining permaculture and compassionate communication - in community and for education. The 106 year old 5 bedroom farmhouse is nearly renovated. Family camp for compassionate communication has been held on the property for the past 7 years, we have a 30 foot yurt for meetings and classes, 2 outdoor solar showers, an ancient apple orchard and younger nut grove. A 5000 square foot garden is currently being sheet mulched, in preparation for you to plant and enjoy. The Salish Sea is visible from the Great Room and one upstairs bedroom. It is beautiful property with forest, hayfields, gardens, orchards, silence and peace. By January the farmhouse will be ready to move in. We are starting out by renting rooms: $500 to $650 a month, internet and recycling included, shared electricity and wood heat. Rooms are furnished with dresser, bookshelf, desk, bed and linens. All you need to bring is your clothes, and perhaps a bike. 10% discount on rent for cyclists. Want to experiment with permaculture projects? This is the place. Want to share compassionate communication skills in community, or with the larger community? So do we. Want to live more sustainably than most Westerners? You will love it here. Enjoy wildlife? Deer, raccoons, snakes, birds? We do too. Want to live in community with like-hearted people? So do we.
