i have questions and just found this site but i thought and introduction first.

I'm 66 years old and live in E TN on the plateau in a friends woods. How I got here is a long story (basically starting over and putting everything i have learned over the years to work.) but have been a life long homesteader since issue one of MEN and woodworker. I'm presently living in a half completed Tiny House which i have built from scratch. Including doors and windows. Hopefully in spring i will be moving to SE TN on an area with a stream you can drink out of

Even now i love to learn and have lots of questions and maybe I will be able to contribute to some of what i have learned over the last 50 years.

Anyway HI!

HI
I see your from Colorado. I came to TN from there Leadville, Miss my mountains and learned a lot from backpacking, riding the trails and snowmobiling them. Now the mountains are pretty much closed offand the underbrush was left to grow and nice big forest fires, and it just got to expensive to live with all the ski resorts around . As far as sharing I guess we will see. I'm kind of a different thinker and while I love possibilities I live what is real. As an example my move off grid here some of the handiest things I found were 3/4 nuts for painters tarps. microwave with my genny, those spring clips you use to clip a bunch of papers together. zip ties,METAL stakes and bungee balls Lot of battle with mother nature and needed quick solutions. A nice fire and camp set up were the possibilites but the reality was to get shelter and stay dry and no time to spend making nice magazine type camp meals.

Be Well
Dave
