Little gripe about the search function

When I search for Maine (being where I'm from, I like keeping up with the local permies), I get results for "main" as well (a very common word, having little to do with my home state, other than it being where I mainly reside). Is there any way to circumvent this? Even when I chose the "exact phrase" option, I get the same results...

Also, something I didn't realize for a while is that when I go to the search page from another forum thread, it only searches the sub-forum I was in before I clicked on search. I have to go to the main forum page and go to the search page from there if I want to get results from all of the forums (fora?).

That 'Maine'/'main' thing is a common frustration on most search engines...even Google does it.
I have tried putting "Maine" in quotes, but it still does that global search.

As far as where to search, there is a search box that allows you to select which forum to search in (including All).

I just tried it...
If I click on this choice line..

Match the exact phrase entered

It seems to work better. If I just do a general search it still gives any and all mains.

Yes. Our support team have gone in and corrected this problem.

If you now go in and search Maine using the "exact phrase" option, it will no longer find main, mainly, mainstay, etc.
Thanks for reporting this, and thanks to our support coders.
