I can't say anything about the LG products, but in general the split ductless heat pump systems with variable speed compressor motor drives are very efficient. By many accounts, they can also be reliable. The ability to run at a low part load to precisely match output with heating or cooling demands does a lot to increase efficiency. I think it's a good decision. I spoke with some HVAC professionals recently who had very good things to say about the Mitsubishi products.
