Heya fellow permies, I just moved to a new spot and this shrub is all over the place. Does anyone know what it is, or if it's ebible/useful?

Thanks in advance!

That is privet. It is widely planted in the main stream landscape industry for hedges and has definitely escaped cultivation. Some states list it as invasive. The wood is very hard (though small), and the berries are inedible- though birds like them.

Thanks Akiva! At least maybe it'll make a nice pile of mulch or hugul fodder.
