If you follow the link above its too a site asking for signitures in support for an organic wine maker who refused to use a pesticide . The full story is give by the producer himself and its a sorry tale
Cote d'Or is a small wine producing area in the East of France , the local prefect ( think state Governer ) decreed that everyone should use pesticide in order to control a plague of Grasshoppers that spead a virus that causes problems in vine growing . When the organic producer was asked to produce an invoice showing that the organic wine producer had bought the recommended insecticide he told the local department of sad that he used other methods . In reply the local govt officials have arranged for him to be tried in court effectivly the local criminal court where he faces jail or a 30,000 euro fine( that $40, 000 plus .)
Showing this trial is attracting international interest I believe will help this case

Thank you David
