Looking for hard working folks, meaning you can shovel, pick axe, possibly use a chainsaw competently, haul brush, dig trenches, spread straw, and so on for a full days work, several days in a row. Developing a beautiful piece of land in the spirit of permaculture. Clearing land, judicious use of fire, machinery, animals and cover cropping to build soil, and prepare for a food forest. Harvesting trees for round pole construction. Preparing for natural building. Camping area available. You care for your own composting toilet and outdoor kitchen. Or live in town. Must have your own vehicle. Beautiful swimming creek, with deep swimming holes on the property. steep property requires one to be in good physical condition just to get around! 25 minutes from Chico, CA. We are very genuine folks, with high expectations, and work ethics. You will learn a lot. But this is truly a job for a mature worker(s), where we expect you to work hard and take care of yourself. Must be able to work in the heat. Summers are hot and dry. The work is concentrated in the cooler seasons, but there is ongoing work as well. We work early in the heat and lay off in the midday, but if you are heat intolerant this is not for you. We also have a 4 year old and 1 year old. Possible childcare work available for the right person. This job could be very suitable for a couple who are both in excellent physical and mental shape and want to develop the skills to develop a raw piece of land into a sustainable homestead. $10-$15/hr doe. 20-35/hr work available a week depending on your skills and our needs. Ongoing work. March-Nov commitment ideal. We need to meet in person and work together before hiring. contact via email with phone number and letter of interest: kristindolphinlight@gmail.com
