Hello Everyone!

My name is Jenny. I am moving to Texas the 3rd week in March, 2014. I am keen to find a work trade opportunity as early as possible on a farm with in an 80-mile radius of the Dallas - Fort Worth area.

Ideally I’m looking for an established farm with a safe, inspiring environment and people that are friendly. My preference is for a part-time work exchange that lasts 3 weeks to a month, maybe longer if the arrangements are working well. We can discuss your needs & commitment requirements.

I’m open to a variety of work possibilities and different kinds of farms. I have experience with Dairy farms in New Zealand, Organic vegetable farms in California & Oregon. I love animals and generally do well with them. I’m flexible and willing to do a variety of farm related tasks. In addition, I also have a myriad of skills that may be of use:

Jenny, I would be interested in talking to you. We are located in Boyd (zip 76023) which is about 20-30 miles northwest of Ft Worth and about 50 miles from Dallas. I am not sure if your timeframe would work since we are still remodeling my great aunts' farmhouse which is what we plan to offer as housing. The wife isn't real interested in sharing our house and I think everyone works better with their own bit of privacy. If you're willing to help with the remodel that it would be great.

We are primarily an animal based farm with grassfed cattle, sheep, and goats and pastured pigs and chickens. We have several hundred fruit trees that range from just starting to come into production to whips planted this year. We will be planting more trees and perennial plants this spring and doing some surveying and earthworks.
