Could anyone recommend an online botanical medicine course? I'm in a process of looking for a piece of land so I'm not sure where I'll end up but I would like to get a head start in botany and herbalism. If you know of any physical, non virtual courses that you would highly recommend please share as well. Thank you!
" the best course I have seen is by Rosemary Gladstar. It has everything and is correspondence. However, I also have the NAIMH courses which are probably better if you already have some basics.
Dr. Christopher's School of Natural Healing http://snh.cc/ is a really good school to attend you can either do it Correspondence Online or through the mail I'm graduating next month from there if you have any questions or want to learn more you can message me.
Michael and Lesley Tierra's East West School of Herbology http://www.planetherbs.com/ Online course, correspondence, forums, about 10 books + 3 course books for the Professional course. Yearly seminars offered at the school (in California).
If you live close to AZ there is the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. They are an accredited college and they have some online courses. You can look them up at http://www.swiha.edu/
Check out herbnet.com for schools and correspondence courses. That is how I found my school: The American College of Healthcare Sciences in Portland, OR. Veteran Benefits are also available.
I have studied through the Dominion Herbal College...they have been around since 1926. They focus on traditional North American Herbal Medicine, and have an excellent reputation. You can do almost all of their programs through distance learning. The more advanced programs do have a clinical placement requirement, but that can usually be arranged closer to your home. Good luck ))
