I recently purchased a few hens and have been letting them free range. I would like to let them into a tree'd area within a field as it would provide all of their needs. However, about 15 years ago my aunt had her horse fencing installed and some of the treated fence post tops were discarded in that area. Im thinking that the arsenic and other chemicals present in the wood would have leached out and been absorbed/dissipated/degraded by now, and that I shouldn't have too much concern letting them forage the bushes, ground growth, insects, etc. Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ryan
