THE COURSE: Format and Content
The course will be a Friday night intro talk and two day, weekend intensive workshop blending hands-on activities of techniques

TreeYo’s take on soil food web succession
like hot composting while also delving into the theory and microscope examination of the food web itself. We will use interactive exercises to reinforce the theory with the hands-on section creating the grounding of the knowledge. From here you will feel confident to start your own worm bin, plant for the purpose of chopping and dropping, and building the powerful force of accelerating succession known as thermal composting. Learn from our successes at around the world in building soil and our dedication to the topic from learning from greats like Dr. Elaine Ingham and Dr Arden Anderson, both great soil scientists of the modern-day. Our guest instructors from Cleveland, Ohio have set up the soil food web lab at Vandana Shiva’s Farm in India amongst other projects so are super knowledgable and dedicated soil scientists and educators. The main topics covered in this workshop will be the following:
Identification of soil types and the associated strengths and weakness for agriculture
Soil Food Web and its connection to fertility and plant strength
Ways in which to grow soil on site the Permaculture way including various types of composting and cover cropping
appropriate technology associated with soil building such as compost extract and tea
Microscope analysis of soils and the proper use of scopes
And last but not least: Lot´s of fun and happy faces, music around the bonfire, collaborative hands-on work, forming the fertility for years to come, and a greater community formed!!!
