Join Jubilee Partners as a Land Intern (Feb–Nov)

Who We Are
Jubilee Partners is a Christian service community in rural Georgia, founded in 1979.
Our core mission is to offer hospitality to refugees who have endured violence or persecution. We provide a safe space for recovery and healing, alongside practical supports such as English classes, legal assistance, and medical care. In walking alongside these families, our own community is deeply transformed.

Why This Matters to You
At Jubilee, we see land care, hospitality, and community life as deeply interwoven. In permaculture, we talk about creating systems that persist, nourish, and renew. That’s what we aim to do — not just grow food, but cultivate relationships, resilience, and belonging.

We’re re-offering a Land Internship as part of our Resident Volunteer Program, intentionally designed for those who want to explore how sustainable agriculture and cross-cultural community can live together. This isn’t just a farming internship — it’s an invitation to walk alongside neighbors who are refugees, to learn what it means to care for land and people in tandem.

What the Land Internship Looks Like

Dates: February 1 – November 30

Application Deadline: December 8

Time Commitment: ~40 hours/week (some tasks early or late, weekends, as season demands)

Focus Areas:
  • Overseeing at least two livestock chores
  • Managing at least three garden crops across the year
  • Harvesting vegetables, fruits, nuts, and meat
  • Helping with community meals
  • Learning to use machines (tractors, mowers, etc.)
  • Participation in community rhythms: devotions, Bible study, shared work projects

Our land is rich and varied: gardens, pastures, forests, orchards, ponds, wildlife, and perennial crops all live here. We use practices like mulching, composting, cover cropping, pasture rotation, and minimum tillage to nurture fertility. We also support the “Neighbors’ Field,” where former refugees grow traditional foods from their homelands. The land is more than a resource — it’s a place of welcome, healing, and creative possibility.

Who We’re Looking For
We don’t require prior experience — just a few key heart orientations:

A genuine interest in Christ-centered discipleship and engaging in community worship

Curiosity about agriculture, food systems, and animal care

Openness to working with people from other cultures (often with limited English), and embracing cross-cultural hospitality

Willingness and capacity for physical, outdoor work (up to 8 hours/day, sometimes early or late)

Ability to both self-start and collaborate with others
