I picked up a boar and barrow who are obviously related as their markings are near identical. They just walked into my
local sales barn ring one day and I though,"by gol, them's mangalitza-reminiscent!!!" They sold quite low, as none of the hog guys knew what they were or wished to bother with the funny, wooly things.
They DO look like swallow bellied Mangalitza's, though. But...couldn't be. Those puppies are too rare and valuable to show up on a commodity auction floor! Yes? The upright ears denote some other breed's blood, but might I have made a score at the sale barn here?
Any thoughts from pig folks and rare breed enthusiasts quite welcome. Thanks!
