Great attempt Darnell...and thank you for documenting it for us all...
We learn as much from our failures as we do from our success, so again much thanks for sharing you insights into what you learned. There are some great books out there that could assist you in learning some skill sets that would go a long way into progressing you understanding of bamboo and lash work...One I would highly recommend, and has been with me since I was a small boy, is "Ashley's Book of Knots." Also, I would recommend tracking down Elders in your community that still weave, crochet, knit, and do hand knot work. Nothing beats working in real time with someone that has "fiber skills," of any type...the cross over in other extremes like surgical knotting and suturing to lashing a chicken coop all benefits from such experience.
Good luck, and we look forward to your next adventure,
j
