As I'm still fairly new to this channel, I'm still not entirely sure where to post what, but I thought this video post might fall in well under 'projects', as this video documents a project I've been working on in the past year.

Short summary: The mother of my kid and myself met first during travels in Senegal. At the time she was living in France. We hit it off and soon I was with her in France. We both wanted seemed to want a natural life in Senegal, so after spending almost two years together in France 'preparing our escape', we finally bought a car which we packed to the brim with our belongings, gave back the apartment we were staying in, and hit the road!

The video intro shows our trip through the Saharan desert, but quickly transitions into the main focus which is how we got established in Senegal after buying some land there, and you even get a glimpse of how I greened up the land in the first few months of being there. There is much more to document once I get back there in a few weeks (currently in Spain for childbirth as I recently became a father), but I think this might be a good video for anyone who's interested in either crossing from Europe to Africa themselves or if you just want to know a little bit about who I am. I permaculturized the video with some good theory and visuals where I could, and although the video is a bit long I hope it won't bore you.

Anyway, I post this video since I'm still on my first scavenger hunt Enjoy

Hey Nikolaj,

Hats off to you for making such an epic trip! I also live in the southern edge of the Sahara,  but not quite in the rain forest like you do. Blessings on your journey. Keep posting what you do!

Hey Nathaneal,

Thanks for your reply - it means a lot. Also nice knowing I've got a permie brother 'nearby'.

I got this tall by not having enough crisco in my diet as a kid. This ad looks like it had plenty of shortening:
