Hello!

My name is Sera, and I'm an aspiring fiber/wool farmer looking for opportunities to learn structure building, fiber farming, and animal care while helping a close knit community. I'm most especially interested in Womyn's communities and am hoping to vet myself and grow my skills within one. Are there any communities like this that would welcome one more?

Not sure on how much "community" or at least one that fits your idea of what they might be - but I've recently learned of a place here in Northern Kentucky called Reclaimed Ranch. They are first and formost an animal rescue, but also have setup a wool mill for thier own use and others. I'm excited to check it out for myself!

Also, nearby in the town of Falmouth/Butler Kentucky, is a get together called "WoolFest" ...altho I did hear it's kind of a pop/commercial type vibe but again, I've never personally went to have an opinion on tat matter.

What area are you in, or seeking to go in order to find these opportunities?

Hi, Cole!

Thank you for the recommendation of the Reclaimed Ranch - I'll see what contacts they have a reach out here today

I'm hoping to stay in the midwest, appalachia... not afraid of moving further than that, just have never really been outside of it for anything other than funsies. I have family in KY, TN, NC, WV, VI, and NY so I'd be happy to be closer to any of them, really. WoolFest certainly sounds like it would be up my alley in a couple ways, maybe there's still something to be learned there, even if the vibe is not quite what i may want to foster in a home I'm sure it would be just fine for a fest. Gotta have those sponsors I guess lol, I ain't mad at em. Your insight is a blessing, thank you for sharing!
