hello folks,

i have a specific question about tinctures which might lead into more questions, but for now:

i am making an usnea tincture (YUM oh usnea i love you) and the information i'm finding, which is mainly on the internet.. none of my books cover usnea, is all over the place.

some resources say to leave the fungi in the alcohol for 14 days, others say 6 months to a year. michael moore says 3-6 weeks, susun weed says 6 weeks, mountain song herbals says 6 months to a year... ah! i was wondering if it depended on fresh vs dried fungi (but couldnt find the answer). anyone know?

thanks!

also, anyone have any usnea stories? im very excited about the green hair right now

You cannot go wrong following Michael's advice.

I would leave fresh twice as long as dried. Ground/blended less time than whole.

It would give a normal human mental abilities to rival mine. To think it is just a tiny ad:
