Calling all engineers, electricians, music techs, and DIY water hackers! 🛠️I have designed a macro-scale fluidic relaxation oscillator for micro-hydro power, and the full blueprint is open-source on GitHub. It converts a steady streamflow (DC) into a sharp, periodic kinetic pulse (AC) without any solid mechanical trip-switches or electronics.By eliminating moving parts at the oscillator level, we eliminate mechanical wear, bearing failures, and maintenance headaches in remote setups. The full documentation and open-source file repository can be found here:👉 GitHub: Passive Fluidic Micro-Hydro Repository

The Prototype Specs (Designed for Low-Head)The system is optimized for ultra-low head constraints (like strict UK temporary structural planning laws) to output a target 20 Watts of electricity.Important note on tank setup to avoid disappointment: Prototype 1 was successfully tested using a 300L flexible, collapsible water butt. For full scaling, you can use a single 1,000L collapsible water butt or link two 500L collapsible butts together. If you choose to use a standard rigid IBC tote, the top cap and bungs must be sealed 100% airtight so the Mariotte array can pull a proper vacuum lock!Header Tank: 1,000L collapsible water butt (or 2x 500L linked), OR a 100% airtight sealed rigid IBC tote. Provides fluid buffer storage and a 100-second cycle window at maximum flow.Mariotte Air Intake: 5 cm (2-inch) Sealed PVC Pipe. Maintains a steady vacuum seal and constant pressure head without internal sloshing.Downpipe: 15 cm to 20 cm pipe acting as the primary fluid inductor.Wicking Capacitor: 2 m² porous compost/biochar matrix tray.Turbine Drop: 50 cm vertical head driving an overshot wheel to a geared 12V DC motor.Note: In off-grid humanitarian environments (like West Africa), this scales vertically to a 3-metre head, multiplying kinetic energy sixfold to drive high-efficiency Pelton or Turgo turbines.📜 Why Am I Posting This Now?Securing Prior Art: This design is published openly under a Creative Commons (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This public disclosure establishes permanent "Prior Art." It legally blocks predatory companies from patenting this mechanism, keeping it free for humanitarian, non-profit use forever. The Prototyping Challenge: I want the hands-on permaculture community to have this first. If you have an active stream, a test rig, or access to basic plumbing tools, I need your help to build, test, and break this concept to benchmark the timing cycles.Check out the GitHub README, pick apart the fluidic circuit logic, and let’s build a zero-maintenance power source together! What are your thoughts on the wicking matrix timing delay? Looking forward to your feedback!

The GitHub I have is here : https://github.com/MeshTent/Passive-fluidic-micro-hydro/blob/main/README.md

, I'm passionate about humanitarianism,  but also I have a small no -kill , no dig garden .

Thank you for letting me share this , please you are welcome to build as long as non - profiting

I imagine it really nicely combining solar steam , with whatever light collectors you have , I havent bought a steam engine yet , just to say again if you build it at a scale above 20milliwatts , please let me know , because you might get there first ,

Regards and thanks ,
Jake
