Hi Permies!

We've created a local group here in Murrieta, CA (zone 9) so we've formed the MURRIETA FOOD FOREST VOLUNTEERS group on Facebook (feel free to join) and for our first project we're building a food forest in a our first members backyard. It's a large north facing slope. I'll post photos soon. We'd really appreciate any tips and advice you have for our design. Thanks!

I'm local and interested in the project. I don't do Facebook but would be interested in helping or at least checking out the project. If you could use the help post some details.

Oh that's so cool that you're local and want to help out.

Here's a video of where were at right about now. We figure one more day of earthworks and hugel building before we can fix up the irrigation system and then start planting seeds. We are collecting perennials in pots so we can plant them all in the fall when it begins to cool off a bit cuz right now it's just too hot for planting I think the 100+ days might kill them while they are in shock...? Best to plant trees in fall/spring you think?
