Spirulina growing using Versonal Iron Chelate

I am trying to grow Spirulina for food in a 10 gal aquarium and I need a source of Iron. I have access to an Iron Chelate but not sure if its food or plant safe. All I know about it I listed below. Any information would be appreciated.

Iron Chelate
VERSENOL™ HEDTA-based

25% Sodium Salt of Iron (hydroxyethyl ethylenediamine-triacetic acid)
1% Disodium (hydroxyethyl ethylenediamine diacetate)
16% Sodium Nitrate
1% Ammonium Nitrate
1% Sodium Glycolate
56% Water

Nothing in that formulation that looks problematic to this chemist.

But why the chelated iron? Algae is used to picking up the iron it needs directly from the water, it's not like a vascular plant that needs to pick it up in the roots and transport it. Any old soluble iron compound should do.

Hi Felix, do you know anyone who has live spirulina and would be so kind to share? I'm asking for health reasons. Already got aquarium, nutrients and iron solution. Look forward to your reply. I pay all expenses, you got nothing to lose.
