Well we did a lot of work and our first swales are up and running. We were waiting for rain to test out the new driveway swales and we got it yesterday. We now know that the retention pond needs to be deeper and we need to dig the swale deeper in 1 spot. Otherwise it worked great. Our driveway has always been our biggest issue. It retains water like crazy. So I have swales on both sides. The swale on one side has then been dug into the swale system I dug for my orchard. Here are some pics, albeit bad pics.

Having to post pics in several replies as the server keeps erroring out on me.

This pic is of the driveway swale draining into the retention pond. It did not drain much as the retention pond is too shallow to encourage water flow. Will be fixing that!

Driveway shot. I wish I had some before shots. This used to get so bad that our ducks would abandon their pond to come swim in the driveway.
