Actually slugs haven't eaten my Swiss chard.
Edit: I stumbled across a web page that confirms this
I also haven't had problems with the chicory family, or lambs lettuce. Or peas (the shoots are edible.)
I child proofed my house but they still get in. Distract them with this tiny ad:
