What if I painted 100 chicken portraits?

There is still chicken painting.  The conversation has expanded to include historical art materials and master studies of people like vermeer and constable.

I've painted far more than 100 chickens now.  Although I am poor at counting.




This video fell in my lap today.



She painted 100 paintings in a year (that's less than two a week).  She talks about the improvement she saw overall and other inspiring things.

my 100 chickens private group has moved well beyond chooks.  Although a few do make an appearance. There is a vermeer study and a constable.  Composition seems to be the theme right now.  Others are starting to share their art as well.  It's a very comfortable and supportive group.  

In a recent discussion, we've found some areas to focus my journey.  Trees are a big part of it.  They are even more complicated than chickens.

And rocks.  But, they scare me.

My journey is taking me towards realism, particularly imaginative realism.   But I find I would benifit from painting quick, on location, sketches.  April should be a good time to focus on that.

Combined, this probably means that 2026 is a year of 100 trees and tree related painting.
