Hi - am new to the forum so I hope this is the right place?
We have just bought a house in Spain but there's not the space for a full swimming pool so we're thinking of a plunge pool/hot tub combo (wood fire heated) with a natural filtration system and a solar pump - I can't see why this wouldn't work but will having the plants / stones in "intermediate" troughs/tanks keep the pools clear?
Also how big do the filtration tanks need to be and can they be like a stream with water running from one to the next?
Any ideas about this and the types of plants which would work (in the Andalucian climate) greatly appreciated.

Thank you for that! It will help with the heating, it's more the filtration that I'm struggling with.

Thanks
Paul

Paul S. Thompson : Welcome to Premies.com, or sister site Richsoil.com, and the forum/threads, with over 27,000
fellow members World Wide, it is possible to come here 24 / 7 and find someone who wants to talk about what you want to talk about !

Living in the Northeastern U.S. water conservation is not a priority (YET ! ), so my advice is mostly from what I Have picked up in the
Threads / Thread extensions here at permies.com !

Many of our fellow members have successfully added grey water re-cycling to theire water conservation scams creating natural filter beds
with quite small patches of Cat tails, rushes, and other aquatic plants and semi aquatic ones like bamboo! We have a large forum/threads
section dedicated to Grey water!

Whenever a new post is created, our Permies computer looks for Key words and posts a listing of ''Similar Threads'' at the very bottom of
the page, When you check out a new Thread it is always a good idea to look there and often rewarding to your search.

Also at the right hand top of tis page between the Permies Banner, and the Permies video of the week is the Permies toolbox, Membership
has its privileges, the search function there will allow you to choose between a web based search and a search of all the 10,s of thousands
of threads posted here at Permies !

I am sure that you will get a lot of help on your topic, as will your future searches! For the Good of the Crafts ! BIG AL

Late Note, for the reasons listed above, you may find it helpful to look in the rainwater catchment section, most of the threads on these two
subjects is about replenishing the water table with filtered water, it may pay you benefits to recirculate part of your ''pool water'' every day
to reduce the natural organic accumulations and algae that your Reed beds will love ! A. L.
