Transition Whatcom first sent this video to its list members, and I think it's truly excellent for anyone wishing to make a change, or be a part of change.

Here's Derek Sivers' blog post with both the video AND the text of the narrative for those who can't load video.

Sivers' narrative is elegantly brilliant.

BTW, Sivers was the founder of CD Baby, which he sold for millions, most of which he gave to a charitable trust to support independent musicians.

(Edited to fix the details around the sale of CD Baby.)

I just love Derek Sivers' perspectives on business.

Here is another more recent video from a talk he gave in 2015, "don't pursue something that someone said you should want"

I like his tips about how to have a human scale business even better than choosing what to pursue with a career (or avocation).

I was talking business models and entrepreneurship with the 2018 homesteaders pdc course last night and thought of this video. (For the current or next wheaton labs pdc see https://richsoil.com/pdc.jsp).

The OP video here is less than 3 minutes and has 5 million views. Take a look!
