I saw this on the BBC and wondered if it was possible that there are such forests in colder climes ? Is a medow really just a short forest ? Is ploughing the real problem ?

Super cool. I'm always in awe when learning about sub-soil ecosystems.

Makes me wonder.

I wonder how trees in repeatedly clearcut forests are changing? I know that dna changes are said to take hundreds of thousands of years, but I am thinking that very few trees of the same species or variety look the same in natural settings.

I guess to reword that, I wonder how trees are growing differently in these repeatedly clearcut areas. The same for the repeatedly burned areas.

Oh the thoughts. Day dreaming re-directed.
