Hi, my partner and I are looking for a roommate who is interested in community building. We live in Norwood right on the boarder of town limits, off of the main street. We are originally from Oakland CA and just recently bought this property and have been working on starting up a bike collective/make space (supplies all re-use and found) and possibly a food co-op program. We have 3 goats (fresh milk), 6 hens (fresh eggs)and 2 dogs (one we are watching one for only a month). We do our best to live sustainably, meaning, we keep or water usage low, we don't use the heater unless its really cold, we dumpster and scavenge most of our food and belongings, and we garden in the spring and summer (we have 1/2 acre to work with). longer term goals are solar panels, more rain water collection, grey water system, permaculture water filtration system, eco cabin, outside kitchen/oven, fruit trees, eco warmed green house for the winter and a wood burning stove for the main house. We are looking for someone who lives similarly. The workshop is open to more "do it yourself" ideas and education, in fact we would love to find a 3rd person who wanted to participate in these projects. We are looking for someone who is community oriented, politically radical, socially responsible (which can look like a lot of different things). along with other projects, love for animals and help with goats or chickens from time to time is ideal (maybe closing coop a night or two or hanging out with the goats etc). We cook and share food communally (not a fixed policy) but if we do share food and meals, then its important all people cook and bring food into the household. shared cleaning and general respect in the space is a must. Smoking pot is fine, no heavy drinking please. Im practically sober and my partner is only a smoker. We are fun, hard working and love folks who are down to get dirty and stay active. We come from a diverse community and do not tolerate racism, homophobia, sexism etc. The room is 275$ a month normally plus bills (approx. 50$ a month). We are interested in doing a work trade for someone who is down to build and work the land or the workshop. please tell us about yourself, and ask questions if you have any. move in is soon if you want. thanks for reading! leila
