Hi!

Are there any experienced or beginner local permaculture designers that would be willing to do a one-day on-site or virtual consultation on a piece of property in Crawford, CO? My boyfriend and I are purchasing a rural land (15 acres) with a combination of pasture and forest with a river and a stream running through it at 7,000 ft elevation. We would like to build a sustainable permaculture-based animal-friendly homestead with natural buildings. We'd like to have enough room for a comfortable secure living for a small group that would hopefully benefit the environment and other communities around us by improving the land and providing natural education, food, and medicine. I just quit my professional life as a forensic scientist, we finished an online PDC course with Geoff Lawton this summer and we are hoping to use the homestead as an educational site for permaculture courses. My boyfriend is very handy with farm and construction work (including heavy machinery operation) and is looking into getting certified in masonry heater building. As newbie permaculture designers we are looking for some local advise with creating a smart design for all of the things we'd like to accomplish. We can offer a beautiful scenery, friendly company, a hot meal, and hopefully beginning of great networking possibilities.
