Sustainable Saturdays: Spring Permaculture Design Course in North Alabama

By applying the basic Permaculture design principles, methods, strategies and techniques covered in this course, people can learn how to better provide for their basic needs, using local resources in cost effective, culturally appropriate, healthy and environmentally friendly ways.

This course is conveniently held on weekends, so as to accomodate individuals that are unable to attend the convention two week courses. As such, we offer this Permaculture Design Course four times a year: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter.

A Permaculture Design Course Will Cover:

Permaculture ethics and principles, design methods, map reading and making, local ecosystems, animal husbandry, forms of eco-gardening and farming, zone and sector analysis, edible food forest gardens, homesteading, water in landscape, regenerating soils, design with climates and microclimates, earthworks, plants in Permaculture, forests, windbreaks, agroforestry, market gardening, patterns in nature, designing for mitigating disasters, integrated pest management, aquaculture and aquaponics, and much more!
