Kampala, Uganda - East Africa - January 16, 2015
ICOD Action Network which is a national community development and rights organization in Uganda, East Africa. ICOD Action Network’s work extends beyond material support and touches upon the need to empower communities so that they can be able to sustain themselves.
In Spring of 2010, ICOD Action Network and its Chicago based partner organization
Project Focus created and started implementing a
permaculture and Information Technology program that trains
local farmers in
permaculture and also serves as a resource for information sharing in areas of need such as agriculture, education and health. Thousands of farmers, youth ans school children are trained annually and are now able to build
sustainable food production system based on
permaculture principles.
“Over the past 5 years, we have seen a sustainable shift in our food systems and built just, sustainable and healthy communities”, says Michael Ahabwe Mugerwa, Executive Director ICOD Action Network.
On January 1, 2015, ICOD Action Network launched a 15 days Indiegogo campaign to save its
permaculture and the Information Technology program from collapsing and scale it out to reach thousands more farmers.
The 15 days campaign will help fund and build sustainable food systems in Uganda, East Africa. With less than 12 hours left, you can help save our permaculture projects from collapsing.
