On August 28th, 2014, the city council unanimously approved the creation of The Festival Beach Food Forest (FBFF). This will be a fence-free edible Eden on 2 acres of park land, where all are welcome to learn about food forestry and experience the beauty of an edible oasis in the heart of Austin. In celebration of our groundbreaking, we are hosting a kick-off benefit party that will include the following local musicians; Los Texas Wranglers, Wiretree, Graham Wilkinson, Honey Punch, Full Moon Medicine, Jimony, DJ Bildeaux, Super Smash Bros. and The Lost Pines. Dessert from Little Lucy’s and beverages by Meridian Hive, East Ciders, and more. Festival Beach Food Forest Launch Party
YardFarm, 7204 Shelton Road, Austin, TX 78725
January 31st, 2015 4pm-11pm This family-friendly event offers fun for all. The event will feature a Pie Walk with featured pies from community partners, plant-inspired activities, presentations by local leaders, and the launch of our indiegogo campaign. There will also be a silent auction with donations from local businesses such as Compost Peddlers, Coffee Sock, Growler Domestic, and Austin Beer Garden Brewery. The Festival Beach Food Forest will also be honored with a generous financial gift from Les Dames D’Escoffier.

FBFF is a project of the East Feast Coalition, a grassroots, volunteer-run organization and an off-shoot of Urban Patchworks, for more information, find FBFF online.

#2: Rain...
There's a chance of rain... Hooray! We're actually still in a drought y'all. Come dance and move in the rain! We'll celebrate the way it moves life to and through us!

That said - it'd be nice to have a few more tents for our generous community! Have a tent, folding chairs or tables just waiting to be shared? If you can contribute, please email Brianna @merrill.brianna@gmail.com so we can get a count together. In exchange, you'll receive a free ticket and a hug!

#3: People Power!
Can't donate $30 bucks but would love to donate your time? Want to invest $30 and still help us watch over the pies or help folks park? We could use able bodies to volunteer for a number of positions. It's going to be a fun team! We would gladly give you an entry ticket in for your help.
