used motor oil instead of used veggie oil

for those who think or beleive they can't get used veg oil, one can run up to 50% used motor oil. that should be easy to get although dirtier to burn. that will save you one half on your fuel "bill". just filter it and pour it in your tank and add i/2 diesel. of course you would have to listen to people tell you it will ruin your engine or the atmosphere. so i would recommend not telling anyone and just enjoy the savings. of course many shops around the country use motor oil to heat with. i've used it with drip oil stove to heat my residence. but now love our "new" rocket mass heater.

Where do the heavy metal contaminants go??

You know, the lead and cadmium, zinc, etc...

i assume the same place they go when you burn motor oil that's in your crankcase and same place they go where all these guys are burning motor oil to heat shops and same place "fuel" oil "contaminants" go when people heat their homes with fuel oil (diesel). i guess hydrogen doesn't have any contaminants (heavy metals, etc) but not many hydrogen powered vehicles around. even if there were, how'd they get the hydrogen to burn in the first place. even wood powered vehicles are dirty. they're all dirty. some more than others, sure. i'd say try not to get ripped off by gov. the prius is dirty. the tesla is dirty. funny the "cleaner" it gets, the more expensive it gets. it's all dirty. fly on a jet to visit grandkids and kids and it's really dirty. so stay home and sell all your cars and walk or pedal everywhere. otherwise do the best you can. (and no cell phones or 60cycle electricity). where do all the heavy metals contaminants go? the same place the gasoline and diesel and propane and wood stove and fluoride and chlorine and pesticides and herbicides in the field across the road go. the same place big pharm drugs go that kill 200k people a year go. into people. is it better or worse to drive a waste motor oil assisted vehicle or a gasoline powered vehicle? they're both deadly just like the fluoride and vaccines and deadly but legal drugs prescribed by what are called doctors. i'd say pay your money and take your choice or get it free and take your choice or chances. you can also eat or drink a whole lot of chlorophyl and keep your face away from the exhaust pipe. i use straight wast veggie oil and it's dirty i'm sure. but it was supposed to kill my engine. i beleive there's something wrong with everything. all a matter of degree. if i couldn't get waste veg oil i would go to waste motor oil or waste transmission fluid. or if i lived closer to town battery powered vehicle (not leaf or tesla). after all where does all that lithium come from? but after all it's easier to just buy a used gasoline powered car or truck and go about your business. clean and safe (sarcasm).

Home heating oil doesn't have heavy metal contamination like waste motor oil does.

And I have good reason to believe that motor oil recyclers deal with the heavy metal components in a responsible way rather than just broadcast them out in the environment.

Most modern vehicles actually burn very little motor oil any more, but it is something to be minimized.


I have made and burned rather a lot of biodiesel, so I have no objection to waste veggie oil.


And how you run your vehicle is your business.

oil is the black gold a backer of the dollar the petro dollar, never surrender your wmo they will sell it back to you or kill others to get it there is no other readily available energy dense liquid

i burned wvo 8 or so years my last car 82 300d got t boned. and then i got out because the wvo has now become a commodity. it would be great in one sense if the oil prices stay down and drive out the biofuels industries so i could once again dumpsterdive it for free.
all of my rigs are haggered i have them moth balled with wmo (the veg side of the fuel system) the parrfins and properties of the oil resits oxidation and molds better.

had a benz with bad compression in a cyclider, burned through quite bit of wmo some of the time would burn straight wmo it would stink really bad this car had 3 coolant heat exchangers one of which was before the raidator.

there are lots of people who have diy some oil cracking fractill distilate columns for straitifieing different grades of fuel from wmo and scrap tech

derek, very interesting. ours is an 81 240d. we love it. 3 years on straight wvo. i think it's great you were able to run straight wmo in the benz. i didn't know people did that ! cracking the oil sounds complicated to me, but who knows. i guess i'm lucky. two restaurants are saving all their veg oil for me.
