Correct grass/plant for this:

So I don't want to attract too many bugs seeings as this is a childrens toy. Still, I terraced one side of it and the rest is also in need of planting. Ideas? I'm already planning on putting sedum on the step portion.

Ok. So I'm going to do some grass on part of it. I'm also going to do some lavender, lemon grass, fever few and various mints. That should repel various insects and rodents I hope.
