I'm on the planning committee of the Forest Garden Convergence, which is coming up shortly, on June 6, 2015. This is the second annual Convergence, which brings together dozens of people in Ontario who are interested in learning more about Forest Gardens/Food Forests, and also creates wonderful opportunities for connecting with other people who share similar permaculture interests. People attending will range from excited newbies to experienced local practitioners. Last year we had around 50 people, and this year we are trying to get 100 - bring your friends, your kids, your friends' kids, your kids' friends, and your friends' kids' friends (and your friends' friends (and their kids)).

This year we have an impressive list of local presenters in panel discussions, as well as all ages activities including building a hugelkultur. Children are welcomed, though supervision is required. Lunch and dinner are being catered by a local organic restaurant, or bring your own lunch - be sure to get your lunch and/or dinner orders in on the website before May 29.

After dinner, the fun will continue, with a bonfire, a drum circle led by an excellent local drummer, and an open mic for poetry, music, or whatever floats your boat.

There will be vendors selling Forest Gardening related products on site - if you are a vendor, please check out the vendor section of the website.

The Forest Garden Convergence takes place at the Living Centre, just south of London, Ontario, which also co-sponsors the event, and offers Forest Gardening training. http://www.thelivingcentre.com/cms/

Last year was an absolute blast - getting to talk to and connect with so many local permies was amazing, and we've received tonnes of positive feedback.

The Convergence is the flagship annual event of the Carolinian Canada Forest Garden Guild - you can learn about membership in that organization on the website as well. All proceeds from registration beyond expenses go towards the Guild, which is a non-profit organization.

Registration for the Convergence is required, and can be done on the website below, which has full details.

Also - if people want to carpool to the event, I thought this would be a good place for conversation about that.
