I used to munch on fried salted crickets every time the ship would pull into to thialand it would realy gross the other sailors out, but their mass descent on the single KFC in phucket town turned my stomach so I guess it evened the score
i have heard of flour of flies, in a documentary on south america, that they use for one sort of tortilla. Intersesting, if you are in a tight spot you can always breed flies by hanging up a bit of rotten meat. I think i have bought flour of flies too, for feeding baby insectivorous birds, it was certainly a black powder, it looked like flour of flies. In Africa they eat something called the mopane worm, that is a caterpillar not a worm that feeds off the mopane tree. I found that out looking up the mopane tree because bill mollison mentions it while he flies over Africa. In france and spain they eat snails and i do too. I would eat crickets too if i went to Tialand. agri rose macaskie
