Organic Gardening

An approach to gardening that works with nature, not against her.

It's safe to say that interest in gardening without artificial chemicals has boomed in the past decade. This has happened due to a greater awareness of the effect on the environment and of safety in the garden. Also,
people have developed a desire to produce food free from chemical inputs. This course aims to bring together the aspects of modern gardening which mesh with organic principles. We want to make this way of gardening as feasible as possible so people don't have any excuse not to garden organically. There is a lot of emphasis on understanding soil and how to build its fertility naturally, as well as effective, chemical-free methods to control weeds, pests and diseases. You will also learn how to grow a wide range of vegetables, fruit and herbs organically, benefits of greenhouses and the history of the organic movement.

Features of this course:

 Flexible home-study learning so you can fit your learning around your work and life

 Quality course material and excellent tutor support – to help you achieve your goals

 On successful completion you will receive an HCC Certificate

 Suitable for both non-professional and professional gardeners

 No previous experience needed

Hi Everyone, I thought I should introduce myself.

I'm Callum and I work at the Horticultural Correspondence College. I'm looking forward to getting involved in the Permies community a little more and answering any questions people might have.

I'm based in London and we're really excited that we can now welcome students from the US.

If you have any questions that aren't covered in Cassies' thread then let me know and I'll be able to help.

Hope to speak to some of you soon.

Cheers!
Callum

This is exactly what I'm looking for. Or close, because originally I wanted an in-person tutor or mentor to come to my house and help me. But found this and I think it'd do just fine as well.

I don't have the money on hand, I just recently lost my job...but for the future, is there any sort of payment plan available?
