After the success of the small lateral periscope entrance I tried to keep the wasps out of the hive I am trying a bigger version. This one has a half entrance in the hive and the bees have no trouble getting in or out but wasps and robbers cannot just barge their way in. Bit like a solid robber screen and I think it could be made out of fly wire if you chose.

If it is successful, and there is no reason it shouldn't be, I will put them on all my nucs.

Original, small version.

New, improved version
