A friend of mine hurt his knee and can't do any strenuous hikes for a while. Does anyone know of some good hikes with little or no altitude gain around Missoula?

The Blue Mountain flat trail is a good one without any hills or rugged terrain.  It's not very long but it's got a nice view of the river, forest and plains all in one easy hike.

Maybe you mean the Maclay flats trail?

the main rattlesnake corridor is also good - some elevation rise after the first few miles, but at a low grade.

The loop around packer meadows up at Lolo pass is fairly flat, as well.

It could be McKlay Flats.  It's got a parking area right across from the Blue Mountain folfing course so we just call it "Blue Mountain" anyway haha.

Where are the trail heads for the Lolo pass and Rattlesnake trails? Thanks!

That's a great map--thank you! Does anyone know if those trails are bike paths as well?

the Rattlesnake is a road, closed to motorists.

You can bike around the Lolo area, but some roads are open to cars.

Probably not at Maclay
