I am curious. Is it necessary to season the wood for a wofati? If so can anyone direct me to the best info on doing this?

Thanks for your time.

Hmm I read through the whole summary of the podcast and it didn't mention anything about seasoning the wood... Am I missing something?

Ok yes that is pertinent. I am still curious if this makes it a bad idea to use wood that hasnt been seasoned. This would leave a lot of space in between the sides the wood if it shrinks 7% no?

Isaac S. : Yes definitely, However it should not greatly effect to strength of the Post and beam (roundwood?) core that must resist the sideways loads

against the sidewalls of Your Structure. This loading will be several times greater than the combined earthen burden enhanced by additional water and

snow loads in the soil above the membrane !

Perhaps a floating piece of round wood between each fixed piece of timber similar to a Board and Batten siding construction ? Big AL
