Hunter Holman : I am assuming that this is what you meant to refer to . Link Below :

http://www.sears.com/united-states-stove-company-double-barrel-adapter-kit/p-SPM7926654802?hlSellerId=14226&sid=IDx20110310x00001i&kpid=SPM7926654802&kispla=SPM7926654802

please note two things 1) The only purpose for the upper barrel is to serve as a radiator . 2) The addition of a plunger tube or length of additional stove pipe

attached to and descending from that 2nd barrels discharge port will draw its waste exhaust gases from near that barrels lowest point increasing the stoves efficiency!

The problem, even if the lower barrel is lined with firebrick -is to maintain a steady state waste gas temperature above 500ºƒ to assure combustion of ALL the Creosote

Anyone who has access to the right type of 55 gallon Barrel can make one of these advanced units, and with insulated stove pipe these barrel heaters can be used

safely! For the crafts Big AL

Hunter Holman : The older the barrel the more steel was used to manufacture it . //// See Link Below :

http://www.missing-lynx.com/library/german/feuergefahrlichdm_1.htm

These barrels are pre-world war 2 German, this was a basic design at the time. Today the barrels just get lighter and lighter,

so pick them up and see how heavy they are, they are all a common ductile steel, similar to that used as the Heat Exchangers

in Fossil Fuel Fired Forced-air Furnaces ! Good luck Big AL

Late Note : Upps it will not load , makes no difference go with a heavy one in good condition ! See new link below :
