I have an idea, that I have no idea if it would work. We have an off grid power system, but we are not completely off grid yet. We built a
tractor shed which has 72 12 volt
solar panels on in banks of 4 for a 48 volt system (we bought the panels used for $10 each). There are four panels in the system that are not producing
enough energy, so we shut down that group as they were dragging down the production of all the other banks of panels. My husband came up with the idea of bringing a wire down from them and wiring them to plug into the
golf cart for charging, using the charge controller that is already on the golf cart to regulate the power to the batteries. We may end up using the plug in end of the AC charger so we can plug it directly into the system when we park it. My question is, can we use it dual purpose? Can we wire a light into the wiring going down to the golf cart that would pull power from the golf cart batteries as long as it is plugged in? We need a light for the tractor shed for working at night. It would be totally cool if that was an option.
