Medicinal herbs for the intermountain west

I've looked at plenty of lists of the top 10 medicinal herbs to grow, and they are totally unrealistic for my climate. If it says moist, acid soil, it won't grow here. I am planning a medicinal herb patch in my zone 1-2 food forest, what are the must-have perennials for short season growing? Anything that provides bee fodder is a plus.

The herbs that are most popular at my farmer's market are things like:

Yellow Yarrow,
Tobacco,
Mullein,
Red Clover,
Mint,
Nettle would be popular if I was willing to pick it,

Crops that are popular in the food as medicine category include:
Basil,
Garlic,
Onions,
Fennel,
Cilantro,
Parsley,
Dill,
Oregano,

People ask me for comfrey a lot, but I haven't been able to grow it yet. I really aughta grow chamomile.

I think that every garden should grow breadseeds as a decoration, just in case they might come in handy some day after Lady Teotwawki visits.
