It is a quarter past 7 in the morning.  I hear shots.  Several in a row.  And then from half a mile away from those shots I hear several more.  And then from two miles from that I hear several more in a row. 

Either I'm in the middle of a long distance hatfield and mccoy situation, or it is the begiing of hunting season - and the way to hunt these days is to take six shots in a row instead of one.

Anybody know what's up?

Hunting season for deer doesn't start until the 21-23 of October.  Waterfowl season did start today on the 2nd and that's pretty popular in Stevensville/Hamilton area. Six shots in a row could be someone using a 10 gauge shotgun and trying to hit some geese without wanting to use a hunting blind or get too close to the vicious beasts haha.

Hearing shots again this morning.  Some sort of hunting season must have opened.

  If you go far enough into the sticks it's always beer can season.
