a bit of an old fence made with recycled/repurposed material

We are just beginning to explore the land around our new home...we saw this bit of fence along the branch that borders the back of our land on it's way to the big creek. Apparently barrel staves woven into the old hog wire, Steve thinks they were never used for barrels, maybe scrap from the barrel factory that was here for many years. We aren't sure if the fence has moved (slumped) down the bank towards the creek or this bit of fence was really intended to hold the bank from further washing down the creek....interesting

When we lived in Rogers, we would buy milk from a farmer in Cave Springs. As you drove up toward his place, there was a six-foot section of wire fence that had been replaced with a handy six-foot wire unit... a set of mattress springs.

I like that one.....I've been tempted to use old bed springs at times in the past.
I think, once in place, plants and trees would grow up in them and secure them to the ground in a good way
