Hey everyone! I am going to start a website to document my progress from knowing nothing to knowing something in permaculture, minimalistic living, and being vegan. I love trees, alchemy, meditation, woodworking, backpacking, and anything to do with nature. Anyone have any clever names within these categories? I am actually in the process of selling off most of my possessions to fund backpacking gear and adventures this summer. So I'm purging my belongings.... Purging for Permaculture? haha! Anyone got any awesome ideas/names? You are all wonderful and I hope your weekend is just the same!

To health and happiness,

Evan

Sounds awesome! The name perma-nature comes to mind. Or permaskills, miniculture. As you can see I like sticking words together to make it short! Minimal Nature sounds cool. Hope that helps! Have fun!

Hi, Evan. My advice would be to think long-term, because your web presence will benefit from you not having to change its branding ever. Right now it seems like you are free to go and wander, but if you see yourself as settling down someday or doing any sort of permaculture business or farm, you'll then want to be able to keep right on using this web presence so that all of your existing fans won't lose track of you, and can become friends and customers in your settled-down location. I know it was a joke, but you might not want "purging" in your URL when you're selling vegetables or chestnuts or whatever. I'd suggest that "clever" become a secondary naming goal, with the primary goal being to pick a name that you like now but you can also imagine still using in twenty years no matter what you are doing then. Something that references your interests is great, especially if you have a notion of which of those interests is most likely to feature in your long term permaculture career.

Hope this helps!

I called mine backyardlogs.com

and because I can, I made a sign-up box so others can keep track of their progress as well.

Seeds to Weeds. ( with the understanding that weeds are a vital aspect to an ecosystem) That's sort of the disclaimer that adds information to the general thought that weeds are bad.

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions to give.

Although, I'm glad I'm not the only person having this problem. I plan to want to start a YouTube Channel to document my Homestead from Start to Finish. I don't have the land yet, so I still have time to think of a Name... But thinking of a clever/catchy name has always been difficult for me.

Good Luck with deciding on the Name!

Thank you for all the advice everyone! I've been brainstorming ideas every day at work which seemingly makes it go by faster haha! I was thinking Vegan Alchemy sounds like a name/brand I can get behind although it doesn't have permaculture in the name. Another is permaroot where the logo is a vegetable with a perm on top because that would be a great seller and eye catcher!

What does a metric clock look like? I bet it is nothing like this tiny ad:
