I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so I'm putting it here. I'm curious to know at what point in the new year you switch from eating stored calories from last year (storage veg, preserved meats, etc) to eating this year's calories? We still get most of our calories from the store, so I don't have a good idea for my own diet. We still have some storage squash we haven't eaten, and last week we ate the remainder of last year's sunroots. We're still eating frozen venison from last Fall. Because we eat so little meat, I expect this will last a few more weeks but then we'll be meatless until the neighbors give us more venison, or we eat the old rooster or an old hen or two. All our vegetables except tomato products, mushrooms, and avocados from the store are from the current garden.
What about you? Do you tend to eat a lot of food from last year, or do you eat a diet that's mostly current?
