So our nursery salvage company has an opportunity to salvage some lilacs. A client is going to pay to have a line of lilacs removed, because they are being shaded by a tree and helping to shade their grass.
So, we will already be paid. We have to dig the plants out all the way, because the client does not want them coming back, and we don't use herbicide. Is it worth potting up smaller sections, with the tops cut back to ground level, in 5 gallon containers and then trying to
sell them for a few dollars a piece? Or would it be better to just salvage cuttings? It is not quite the right time of year for greenwood cuttings. Or
should we just throw them out?
Are second hand shrubs in general worth it?
I will save at least one; another client would love a lilac bush.
