Lilacs are a popular classic shrub, and it seems like they would be worth salvaging. What facilities do you have for the plants? If you own ground, you could plant one of each variety as a mother plant, and keep on taking new plants off it, both green cuttings and the ones that come up from the roots (suckering).
For the ones you will be removing dividing and potting, pot them up and put them in a protected place. It would be interesting to see what survival rate you'll get when you dig them up this time of year. If it were me I would use an anti-shock solution or preparation. (my favorite being "super thrive").
Looks like you're in business! Good luck!
