I have had some male hardy kiwi for a few years. I purchased some females this year.
Here is a thing I noticed about them. The males I got were attractive to aphids.
I left some pots next to the Kiwi. In my area if you leave a group of pots you will likely get small black
ants infesting them.
These ant farm aphids. As the aphid population built up so did the things that eat the aphids.
Now many aphids are plant specific, but many of the things that eat aphids are not aphid specific.
So since the males are not fruit producers, it was little loss to have them covered with aphids.
Move the pots with ants and the ants and aphids go away, but so do all the things feeding on the aphids.
By leaving a few pots together I get a colony or two that I can relocate next to the kiwi each year to farm aphids.
