Hi All,
I'm new to the SW Or. area but not to permaculture.
I SWEAR I had found a topic about next year's convergence being in Oregon, and wanted to find out more about WHO talked about that at the 2010 Convergence and if anyone has made any moves toward that for Oregon in 2011.

I did not attend the last one, and wondered how many people came to the convergence (total registered?) and what the structure was like.
I've organized the small Permaculture Gathering (~100-165 people) in Celo, NC and a couple of PDC's in the Southeast, so I have some skill at organizing, and I think the very lively group of Permaculturists in SW Oregon could make it happen, but I need some background please

Thanks,
Isabel Crabtree

PS, personally I think there's a multitude of benefits to having smaller bioregional "gatherings" rather than big regional conferences-less driving for one.

Isabel, the convergence will be in Oregon this year.

If you want more info, I'd suggest inquiring of Paul W. as to who to talk with. Hes abreast of the lo-down.

Isabell, I found one person within 50 miles, while looking at nurseries that even knew what permaculture is here on the balmy riviera of Oregon known as Coastal SW Oregon.  ((Except Mountain Homestead))

I'm hopin I can find some like minded people this year to talk to.

There's one in SoCal:

2011 Southern CA Permaculture Convergence: April 29 - May 1
http://www.socalconvergence.org/

Are there many of them? Has anyone been to one?

I'm game for participating in a meet-up if it is anywhere near Jackson County.
