This is kind of random I know, but I had this offer come through Tomoson.com to get this umbrella for $2 plus shipping in exchange for my review.

Truth be told, I just don't really use umbrellas, so I ended up not taking the offer, but I was kind of intrigued by the fact that they actually offer a lifetime replacement guarantee on it - I mean, a freaking umbrella. I've never had an umbrella that didn't break, so that kind of surprised me.

Here's the link: 60 mph Wind Proof Umbrella
Has anyone ever used this thing? I dunno, lifetime guarantee on this thing, I almost went for it. I might actually use an umbrella for that.

That's pretty cool. I live in the UK but if I didn't I'd be all over that.

LOL! I live in the Northwestern US (Seattle-ish area) and we also don't use umbrellas despite (or because?) the fact that it rains 3/4th of the year. You can always tell if someone's not from our area because they use umbrellas. I'm pretty sure I have 3 umbrellas that were given to me over the years, but I haven't used them and have no idea where they are.

It's good to know it's not just a "Seattle" thing to avoid umbrellas!

I’ve lived in two cities in Northern California and I don’t see a lot of people using umbrellas in the rain either, especially in the last few years.
When I was growing up in Asia, ages ago, we used umbrellas all year round, rain or shine.

I want my playground back. Here, I'll give you this tiny ad for it:
